Covid-19

With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation and the possibility of changing government regulations in NZ we would also like to recommend that schools and supporters consider their bookings and the subsequent cancellation policies or insurance of those bookings carefully. Disruption to or cancellation of these regattas could occur at any time. Also please ensure you stay at home and do not attend the event if you are sick or feeling unwell, and please ensure attention to personal hygiene remains paramount (wash your hands, cough or sneeze into elbow).

Exhibition Events U17 Pair

Following the success of last year's events the NISSC regatta organisers have again applied for approval to hold exhibition events for U17 Pairs.

That approval has been granted by the Schools Committee. It is subject to the rowers competing in the exhibition events not competing in more events than recommended by the Schools Committee i.e. no more than 2 other events.

The U17 Pairs Exhibition Events provide small (and large) schools an extra opportunity to put students in sweep oar boats. And they give this year's U17s a chance to become familiar with racing pairs before entering the U18 Pair Championships Events next year - where they can win medals; and (at Maadi) trophies, medals, points for their schools, and Top Ten badges.

The U17 Pair Exhibition Events can be found between events 38 and 39 in the standard programme of events for Championships.

note: there is also a remit before the 2021 NZSSRA AGM that will make the U17 pair permanent if it passes.

REGATTA ENTRIESopen for supplementaries and changes

The online regatta entry system is OPEN for Supplementary Entries, Scratchings, and Crew Changes. The per-school-per-event limits remain in place and will not be changed. Close off will be 8:00AM on Thursday 4 March.

SUPPLEMENTARY Entries

The supplementary entry system caters for limited late entries. It re-opens for late entries only for events where there would otherwise be an empty lane during heats racing. Supplementary entries are late entries so are still subject to the crew limits placed on standard entries.

Supplementary limits are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Supplementary entries can only be made using the schools' existing squad and, unlike during standard entry, you do not need to go through the "update entries" process. Instead, they are entered as soon as the crew selection is confirmed (or if somebody else got the last spot the crew will be rejected).

The availability of supplementary entries declines as supplementary crews are entered but can also rise as scratchings are made - so it pays to keep an eye on availability and it is also important to scratch crews as soon as possible.

Scratchings

These are effective as soon as the scratching is confirmed online. You need to be careful when making a scratching as you cannot reverse it online. It is unlikely to be possible to reverse a scratching at all once made.

The availability of supplementary entries can also rise as scratchings are made. However, scratching a crew does not guarantee a supplementary entry will become available (if you rely on that happening you can get sorely disappointed!).

Crew changes

These take effect as soon as the change is confirmed online. Unlike during standard entry you do not need to go through the "update entries" process.

Strict crew change Rules are in force (see Rule 14). You can change a crew multiple times. Each time you do it will be compared against the crew that was entered.

ENTRANTS LIST

The following 89 schools are entered at NISSC: ACGT, AGSB, AOTE, AQUI, BARA, BTHC, CAMB, CARM, CHIL, DIOC, EGGS, FRAN, GBHS, GGHS, GLDW, HAMB, HAMG, HAUR, HAVE, HLCR, HOWA, HOWI, HTVH, HUAN, IONA, JPCR, KAPI, KGCA, LIND, MACL, MTAL, MTMA, NAPB, NAPG, NPLB, NPLG, ONEW, ONSL, OREW, OTUM, PARA, POMP, PUKE, QMAR, ROSE, ROTL, ROTO, SAMU, SCOT, SHAK, SHGH, SHGN, SHLH, SHNA, SJHM, SJHS, SPLH, SPTW, STBN, STCU, STKT, STLN, STMW, STOR, STPA, STPC, TAKA, TAUH, TAUP, TAWA, TEAW, TEKC, TRGB, TRGG, TRID, WAIU, WEGC, WENT, WHAK, WHGG, WHHS, WKDS, WLCO, WLGC, WNCS, WNHS, WOOD, WTLB, WTLG

Keep a watch on both regattas for indicators of who may claim the top spot at Maadi!
