Semi-final races are now complete (except semi 2 of the Boys under-15 double, which is at 1:05pm). Finals are underway. Pure Playing Field Nation Thursday: Repechages, events 6-42; Semi-finals, events 1-27A beautiful day with none of Wednesday's wind. This meant all the repechages were completed as well as most of the semi-finals, which brought the regatta almost back on track without having to cancel 'B' finals and/or compress 'A' finals on Friday/Saturday. Waikato University Wednesday: Repechages, events 1-5Too windy first thing. Still too windy but expecting change. Still too windy but hoping to get several hours' racing in. Racing started and 1 hour was squeezed in before the wind came up again too much. Repechages for events 1-5 were completed. Repechages will start from event 6, boys under-18 pair (race 186) tomorrow. Waikato University Wednesday: Repechages, events 1-5Too windy first thing. Still too windy but expecting change. Still too windy but hoping to get several hours' racing in. Defence Force Tuesday: Heats, events 22-42An often overcast day that started with a cool morning but warmed up without - again great for racing. In the Levin 7th Jubilee Cup Nouth Island crews took one heat while South Island crews took the other but current titleholders Rangi Ruru Girls School was fastest overall, staking their claim to retain the Cup. (girls under-18 eights heats results) In the Maadi Cup both Westlake Boys High School and Hamilton Boys High School won their heats in sub-six minute times setting up a fascinating final for Friday. (boys under-18 eights heats results) Massey Monday: Heats, events 1-21A fine mostly sunny day with very little wind - excellent for racing and some fascinating battles in the heats. In the Springbok Shield perennial favourites Hamilton Boys High School have some tough competition this year from Westlake Boys High School.
