NZSSRA 2015 AGM Remits and Committee MembersThe NZSSRA 2015 AGM will take place on Sunday 22nd March after the safety briefing of the Aon Maadi Cup, at the Don Rowlands Centre, Lake Karapiro. Remits - Notice is given that the closing date for submission of remits for the AGM is February 13th 2015. Note: The Rules and Regulations are not up for change in 2015 (ref cl 14.6 of constitution) so unless there is an emergency to be dealt with remits should be of a general nature, relate only to changes of the Constitution or the Safety System which is the four yearly review this year. Nominations - The nominations for the following positions are called for and due on the accompanying dates.
Please make these nominations/applications/proposals in writing to [email protected] Limits on entries at School Championship RegattasThere will be limits again for entries to the school championships. These limits are in place due to the large entry and participant numbers and limited time regattas have to complete the programme therefore regatta organisers are forced to restrict entries. The following list of limits has been approved by the Schools Committee. All races with limits imposed will be open to supplementary entries to fill any remaining lanes or races. The following limits were sought by Karapiro Rowing

2015 Aon Maadi Cup Week
This schedule is subject to change particularly due to weather issues Number of Events Per PupilAfter a review of the per pupil entries at last season's school regattas and much discussion about the health and safety of each rower we would like to make the following recommendation from the Schools Committee: School age rowers should only be racing 2 events, and only a few from your squads possibly doing 3 events maximum. To reach this recommendation advice was sort from physiologists, leading elite coaches and the NZ Secondary School Sports Council. Remember with the progression system introduced 2 years ago the workload to progress can be high, over a week at the Maadi Cup one event can mean a rower compete in 5 races (heats, reps, quarters, semis and a final). Some rowers last season were entered in 5 or more events; that is 25 races, which equals over 100km rowed and 50km of that is at race pace, we consider this an unacceptable workload for a school age person. The Schools Committee will continue to monitor the entry per pupil this season. Aon Maadi Cup CompetitionsThere will be a number of competitions at the 2015 Aon Maadi Cup, so get your squads to come up with an entry for your school and get into the festivies.
More specific information will be sent via email flyers shortly WW100 CommemorationRowing NZ will be commemorating the WWI Centenary at the 2015 Aon Maadi Cup. Your school is also able to take part in this commemoration by putting the WW100 logo on your 2015 team t-shirt, we will be featuring it on all our winners tops too!
